Second Missing Canoeist Vents Spleen At Media

A second missing canoeist has spoken of his anger at the media that his disappearance was overshadowed. Ron Jones, (42), an avid soldier in the NHA Army, disappeared five years ago while out canoeing in Pembrokeshire, two days before the disappearance of John Darwin. Ron Jones reappeared earlier this month, just six hours before Mr Darwin announced himself as a missing person.
When asked about the timing of his reappearance, Mr Jones denied the coincidence. "Clearly this John Darwin chap had heard about my disappearance and decided to cash in on my situation," said Mr Jones. "The difference is, I was genuinely missing. I remember the last five years vividly. My best friend was a volleyball named Nike. I simply didn't know where I was."
Local police are mystified. "The fact is nobody knew about Ron's disappearance. News travels very slowly in these parts. His wife thought he'd just gone out for a long walk," said Welsh Chief Constable, John Bevan.
